Principal's Message

Welcome to the Ottawa Technical Secondary School website. Our website has important information for students and their families, including announcements, a calendar of events, and links to resources to support learning and well-being.  There are many useful links that the District has included on our website.

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather and learn is the traditional, unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg People. It is our  hope that as we learn together, we honour and respect the generations of Algonquin People who have been the stewards of this beautiful land.

I feel very honoured and privileged to be the newly appointed Principal of Ottawa Technical Secondary School.  Our school offers so many rich learning opportunities and pathways for students. I look forward to meeting and getting to know all students, families and the community as well as exploring possible rich new opportunities for our students.

Prior to arriving at OTSS, I worked for 35 years as a teacher, department head, educational consultant, vice-principal and principal.   In the classroom, I taught geography, mathematics and special education. I am passionate about student success - my Master's of Education is in the psychology of learning and   I was the Pathways Consultant for the District where I worked with all schools grades 7-12 promoting pathways, world of work, trades and technology and myriad other opportunities for students, including projects with both OTSS and Sir Guy.  Additionally, I served as the vice-principal at Ridgemont and Brookfield before moving to Gloucester where I was the principal for the past 6.5 years. I am thrilled to be at OTSS supporting your children.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me anytime - working  collaboratively with parents/guardians is critical to student success.
