Thank you RBC!

We are very happy to announce that OTSS has been chosen as a recipient of an RBC Learn to Skate Grant. The school will be aiming to facilitate opportunities for all of our students to have the opportunity to learn how to skate. The school will be buying skates that will be available for students to borrow and provide development classes (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) at local arenas.

Chris touched the lives of everyone he met. He knew how to make one feel special and noticed, students and staff alike. We would always see him with a smile on his face, a story to tell and a gregarious laugh to finish.

Lydia's work to drive the OYAP / Dual credit program at her school is award winning! She has supported students within the OYAP programs - including Welding (held at Kemptville College). Her most recent "good news" item includes imbedding Dual Credits in the culinary program during Work Experience at OTSS in a "team taught" - condensed version.

Thanks to Lydia and her willingness to "think outside the box", OTSS students are moving into the trades through OYAP! Congratulations Lydia!

This year Link Crew welcomed the new Class of 2015

The day started out with a welcoming assembly in the Gymnasium that allowed all of the new freshman the opportunity to relax, have fun and meet fellow new classmates and their Link Leaders for the upcoming year. Our Link Leaders look forward to working with our Grade 9 students throughout the year, to make sure that their introduction to OTSS is a positive one.

For the 4th year in a row, O.T.S.S. has been awarded the Secondary School Quality Physical Education Award by Physical & Health Education Canada! We are 1 of only 5 schools in our system to be recognized. All aspects of the physical education program, intramurals and athletics are scrutinized before the honour is bestowed. We received a large banner noting this honour that will be put alongside the other 3 in the gymnasium as a testament to the hard work and enthusiasm demonstrated by our Physical Education program, Teaching staff, Teacher-Coaches & student-athletes.

GO MUSTANGS GO!

Ottawa Technical Secondary School and Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School share in 2010-2011 the Ontario Award for excellence in Intramural Sports for their unique and popular Vocom Sports League. The two schools were the only sites to receive this recognition in the OCDSB
